| JOB PURPOSE |
| Responsible for performing welding operations using suitable welding processes and
techniques to produce quality structurally sound and strong welds free from defects. |
| MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB |
Operational Responsibilities
- Follow all safety regulations and best practices to ensure a safe working environment.
- Participate in safety training.
- Performing MIG, SMAW, Resistant spot welding (RSW) or TIG welding operations ensuring the welds are free from defects and right size as per standards.
- Inspect joint preparation and report substandard preparation
- Prepare jigs and welding fixtures as required for products production and welding
- Performing fitting and weld preparation procedures in accordance with specified standards and assembly/fabrication drawings
- Set up and use all welding equipment correctly
- Use welding consumables and tools efficiently
- Use and maintain welding equipment in full operating condition.
- Reading and interpreting technical documents and drawings to ensure product is built /welded as per design
- Work in accordance with KVM Quality policy, procedures and work instructions
- Champion Quality improvement initiatives, put in place and follow Kaizen principles and standards as provided.
- Adhering to KVM HSE Policy and ANZEN principles
- And any other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor

| Minimum level of academic and professional qualification required to perform effectively in the role |
- Diploma/Certificate in welding or a related field
- To have completed secondary level of education
- Knowledge of welding best practices and safety procedures

| Minimum level of experience required to perform effectively in the role |
- Working experience of 2 years in welding and fabrication in structural work or automotive field
