National Parts Manager – CASE Division
We are looking to fill the position of National Parts Manager – CASE Division based in Nakuru Branch. The role reports to the General Manager – CASE Division.
Job Purpose
This role is accountable for the parts business P&L by driving sales growth, optimizing supply chain performance, developing high-performing teams, controlling expenses, mitigating risks, and delivering outstanding customer experience.
Main duties and responsibilities of the Role
- Ensure the right number and quality of staff to meet targets and customer satisfaction.
- Set individual targets, track performance, and implement corrective actions to meet objectives.
- Drive Parts department performance through KPI definition, measurement, and analysis.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly management reports with clear actions for performance variances.
- Develop and propose the annual Parts Sales business plan; ensure achievement of revenue, GP, and customer satisfaction targets.
- Prepare monthly forecasts and action plans with progress reports to senior management.
- Pursue and expand new business opportunities and parts sales through dealers, fleet customers, stockists, authorised service centres, tenders, government, donor-funded projects, branches, and retail customers, including identifying opportunities in tenders, lease, and framework contracts.
- Oversee parts stock control, including weekly, monthly, and bi-annual perpetual stock takes, and manage the Central Parts Depot (CPD) for receiving, binning, dispatch, and stock takes.
- Conduct competitor price analysis, negotiate with manufacturers, and review prices to maintain competitiveness and budget GP.
- In collaboration with Marketing Department, plan and execute parts sales and marketing promotions (seasonal packages, service clinics, open days, etc.).
- Conduct regular field visits to understand market dynamics and customer expectations, and expand product offerings in line with market demand while providing timely order updates to customers.
- Optimize retail store operations for agility and efficiency to support workshop and retail customers.
- Coordinate demand analysis, ordering, order follow-up, and review of ageing parts to reduce obsolescence.
- Manage existing suppliers, develop new suppliers for better pricing and quality, and oversee parts procurement and logistics to reduce overall parts cost.
- Control expenses to remain within approved budgets.
- Eliminate or reduce risks and enforce compliance with SOPs, 5S, and Safety standards.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Minimum level of academic and professional qualification required to perform effectively in the role
- Degree in Agricultural /Automotive Engineering or other relevant field
- 7 years of relevant working experience with minimum 5 years at a Supervisory level in an organisation of similar size of operations
- Minimum 3years working experience in sales in the automotive industry
- Experience in Agri-mechanization Industry is desirable
- Product knowledge i.e., tractor specifications, Basic mechanical knowledge is desirable
